The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI) has recently released its sixth annual Public Investor 100 rankings, where NEST’s CIO Mark Fawcett came 74th in the world. He is one of just three asset managers in the UK to make the ranking.

SWFI is a global organisation designed to study sovereign wealth funds, pensions endowments and other long-term public investments in the areas of assets allocation, risk, governance and economics amongst others.

SWFI’s globally recognised list ranks asset owners and public executives and is based on metrics including innovation, funding, environmental circumstances and returns as well as unique programs and initiatives undertaken.

Commenting on making the cut Fawcett said: ‘This ranking reflects NEST’s continued dedication to aiming for the best possible retirement outcomes for our members. I’m very proud of this recognition and the ground breaking work the investment team at NEST is undertaking such as implementing a unique ESG-aware commodities mandate, investing in the climate aware fund and delivering market leading returns in our default fund without taking excessive risk.’
